Misha Lulu

Misha Lulu is a family owned and operated fashion brand, founded by Joe and Karen Salazar. Karen, a native of El Salvador, came to the United States in the late '80's to study fashion design. She married Joe Salazar, a graphic designer, and moved to South Pasadena with their daughter Isabela.

Inspired by her faith, Latin culture, motherhood and her European travels, Karen was determined to leave corporate America, and in 2005 she created her very own collection of t-shirts that reflected the Salazar's love for art, nature and family. The result was Misha Lulu, the name Karen gave to her imaginary friend when she was growing up in El Salvador.

Since then, Misha Lulu has grown from a small t-shirt collection to a cohesive multi-category lifestyle brand which is designed using organic fabrics, original graphics, fun prints and exciting silhouettes, which have truly positioned themselves in the toddler market. The Misha Lulu character has now come to life through the Misha Lulu clothing line and serves as the inspiration behind it. You are going to fall in love with Misha Lulu!

We have just received the first two groupings for this season and they are truly unique. The first is a carnival of pinks and blues, abounding with elephants and polka dots. My favorite piece from this group is called the Elephanito Jumper:

The second grouping is called Prairie Misha. Inspired by nature, it has an organic feel with brown ginghams, red strawberries, blue birds and cute mushrooms. A new silhouette for Misha Lulu this season is called the Afternoon Dress, perfect for a summer day:
